"To call the songcraft of Joanna Lim outstanding wouldn’t do it justice. Ambitious from every angle, the handiwork of the veteran keyboardist-saxophonist surpasses anodyne expectations of conventional song structure, and it’s got to do with the musical discipline she’s chosen to align herself with." ~ Kevin Ho, Life in Arpeggio

Progressive Rock. Fusion. Instrumental
“Parellel Vortex” is the debut solo album of Singaporean keyboardist and saxophonist Joanna Lim. The 8 track instrumental album is a unique blend of progressive rock, fusion and soundscape. Despite working on the songs pre-COVID, “Parallel Vortex” seems fitting during this unforeseen times. “Parallel” signifies the multiple portrayal of ourselves while “Vortex” symbolizes the unrests that spiral us down. The intricate and complex instrumentals also proudly feature several local musicians. The album is dedicated to her late father, Mike Lim, who died of cancer in 2008.
Debut album now available on all major music platforms.
